The incredibly balancing endocannabinoid system’s benefits are being overshadowed by the stigma of marijuana and getting high. Unfortunately, most educators and medical providers are not fully educated or have written off medical marijuana as an ineffective medicine due to it’s stigma. Sadly, what’s being overlooked is that research has found life’s stress depletes the endocannabinoids that provide calm and balancing within your body. There are many plants, not just just the cannabis plant utilizing this same pathway to help restore balance. Many are finding that using cannabis in combination with other plant medicine or on it’s own is providing the sedative effects they desire. As a nurse Ashley Wynn-Grimes found that many patients were benefitting from cannabis but were feeling stigmatized for their use of medical marijuana. So Ashley founded Cannabis Nursing Solutions, authored two books “Stigmatized”, and the children’s book “Asa’s Medicine” to empower patients and nursing professionals to make informed wellness choices when it comes to cannabis. She’s since went on to create educational medical programs for nurses to better understand and educate patients on their choices and options when it comes to using cannabis based medicine. In this episode of The Health Fix Podcast, Dr. Jannine Krause interviews Ashley Wynn-Grimes on how your endocannabinoid system works to help you maintain balance in the body.
