I learned something fascinating last week during a podcast interview that I have to share.

Teeth grinding and clenching are usually blamed on stress and often brushed off.

But what if the stress is actually caused by poor blood flow to the brain from ineffective breathing, and your jaw is clenching to help keep your airways open?

When circulation to the brain drops, detox slows down, and that can lead to fatigue, brain fog, and cognitive issues.

According to this week’s podcast guest, Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, oral health is one of the most overlooked factors in chronic fatigue and cognitive decline.
(There’s even research to back this up:  read it here .)

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t made the connection between compromised breathing and teeth grinding before… but it makes perfect sense.

This is where seeing a dentist who understands the connection between oral and systemic health is crucial.

Your mouth tells the story of your overall health and this week, I’ll be sharing a few more insights that could help you and your family stay energized and healthy.

Till then, check out Dr. Michelle’s Ideal Smile Care Routine Quiz to see how you’re doing when it comes to your oral health routine!

Here’s to making oral health a priority,
