I can tell how someone will fare with a health condition based on the words they use to describe their situation.
If you catch yourself saying…
“This is hard, challenging or difficult…”
…Or “it better be worth it to make all the changes…”
Consider these big red flags.
Either you don’t believe in the protocol, the possibility of improving your condition or you’re looking for a magic pill outside of yourself.
Chances are you’ve caught yourself with similar statements at one time or other.
No judgement – I’ve been there too.
Unfortunately, words speak volumes to your body on what you think.
If you think something will be hard, difficult or a challenge – it will be.
Let’s take my least favorite subject – weight loss.
Appropriate since this is the week most folks drop off their New Year’s Resolution to drop weight.
For years I would tell anyone who’d listen – “if I look at a cookie I’ll gain 5 pounds”.
So each time I ate junk food I’d gain 5 pounds.
I also had a story on repeat about how hard it was for me to lose weight.
So of course, it became a challenge for decades.
Till I realized I was making everything in health hard for myself…

Traveling soon? Looking to detox or reset your gut? Try one of Dr. Krause’s Fullscript plans.
…and rubbing off on my clients too.
I’d set folks up with a diet protocol to help their gut and say “this is going to be difficult, but you can do it” vs “this is temporary and a way to learn more about yourself.”.
Yikes!
So I ask you…are you sending a message to your body that you don’t mean to?
How could you re-word sentences that you use often to describe your health journey?
Your cells are listening – what do you want them to hear?
Same goes for asking yourself questions to gain insight into your health.
This week on The Health Fix Podcast, I sat down with Dr. Moshe Daniel Block, a fellow naturopathic doctor, and talked about his method of asking strategic questions to get to the root of your health condition.
Fascinating stuff!
Great podcast for anyone feeling frustrated with their chronic health condition and looking for answers. (episode 535 of The Health Fix Podcast – grab it anywhere you get your podcasts)
