Feeling wiped out even after 7 to 8 hours of sleep or more? It might not be your body that’s the problem—it might be how you’re rechargingovernight. Sleep alone doesn’t restore you. It’s what you’re doing during the day that supports how you sleep. If your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, you’re not getting restorative rest and running marathons in your sleep instead. Here’s what might be draining your energy overnight:Unprocessed stress from your day Your brain replays unresolved stress while you sleep. If you’re going to bed with lingering frustration or worry, you’re not truly unwinding. The theme of your dreams can tell you what your nervous system is processing. Overthinking your health issues Constantly focusing on fatigue or symptoms can amplify them. What we dwell on, grows, including negative thoughts that drain your electrical charge (a.k.a. electrolytes + voltage).Sleep posture & breathing Belly sleeping, mouth breathing, or sleep apnea can prevent deep, healing sleep. Shallow breathing = poor oxygenation = poor recovery.High overnight cortisol If stress hormones spike at night, your body thinks it’s running not resting. Track this with HRV (heart rate variability) to get real insight. What you eat, watch, or think before bed Late-night snacking, scary shows, murder investigations, and scrolling the news or social media can all overstimulate your system and disrupt your recovery.Nutrient deficiencies Lack of magnesium, glycine, glutamine, or B vitamins can impair your ability to repair overnight.Environmental energy drains Smart meters near your bedroom, EMFs, low-vibe conversations, highly processed food, and toxic relationships all take a toll on your nervous system as well as your rest.So what do you do? Start by sleuthing the patterns. Pair your symptoms with deeper lab testing like I do. It’s not just about what’s “off” in your labs. It’s about how it matches the way you feel. I recently interviewed Reed Davis, the founder of the FDN (Functional Diagnostic Nutrition) certificate program for health professionals, on the Health Fix Podcast. Chances are you’ve seen a few folks online with the FDN letters behind their name. He’s all about digging deep and connecting the dots while support your whole body and especially the nervous system. Real overnight recovery = high-vibe living throughout the day. This means:Reducing your exposure to energy-draining people and habitsPrioritizing sleep hygiene and pre-bed routinesRecharging with tools like PEMF and simply removing what’s not serving youEating high vibe foods closest to nature to help recharge your cells And hey, August 8th is the Lion’s Gate Portal—a powerful time to manifest the life you really want.
