I’ve been training for my next vacation.

Not because I just want to look good in a swimsuit but because we have some epic adventures planned.

I love having a why behind my healthy choices. When you have a meaningful reason, you’re far more likely to stick with your routines long term.

Without it, motivation fades which is why by February, most New Year’s resolutions are already forgotten.

But what if you had a deeper reason to get and stay healthy for life?

And what if your travel plans required great cardiovascular fitness, stellar balance, upper body strength, and all-day energy?

Would that change how you show up for your health?

Next week, my family and I are heading to our annual trip to the Cayman Islands. Joel and I are planning multiple days of kayaking around the island, so we’ve been very intentional about our upper-body strength training.

We’ve also kept up with sprint workouts twice a week and daily walking (indoors, to be honest because it’s been negative degrees here). The result? A clear purpose behind our workouts and our meal plans.

That purpose has also had me experimenting more with peptides, especially those that support mitochondria, the energy factories inside nearly every cell in your body.

The top two complaints I hear from clients are fatigue and brain fog.
Both are deeply connected to mitochondrial health.

If you’re eating well, exercising, and doing “all the things,” I encourage you to explore peptides to see how they work for your body. But if those foundations aren’t in place yet, that’s where you start first.

Lately, my two favorites for mitochondrial support are MOTS-c and P21.

MOTS-c helps enhance mitochondrial function to boost physical energy.

P21 supports mitochondria in the brain—making it a powerful ally for focus and mental clarity.

Together, they’re a one-two punch for vitality.

To support this process, I also recommend having B vitamins, a little vitamin C, and CoQ10 on board either through a quality multivitamin plus added CoQ10.

These peptides are injected subcutaneously (just under the skin) for best effect but they’re not a forever commitment.

For example:
• MOTS-c: 3 days per week for 2 weeks, then off for 2–8 weeks
• P21: Daily for 20 days, then off for 2 weeks to 3 months

I see these as strategic tools especially before a trip where you want to feel sharp, strong, and energized. Then you cycle off and plan ahead for your next adventure.

Lately, I’ve been looking at health and aging through the lens of what inspires vitality.

Adventure travel is my jam. I’ll relax on the beach for a day but I’m here for the experiences.

And when I ask people what motivates them most to stay healthy, the answer I hear again and again is travel.

So why not train for your adventures the same way an athlete trains for their sport?

Last year, I launched a program called Vitality Sleuth for those wanting to explore their health on a deeper level. This year, it’s evolving into Adventure Vitality Sleuth.

If you have hobbies, sports, or bucket-list adventures you want to keep doing for decades, I’ve created a path to help you stay active for life.

It blends Chinese Medicine, hormone support, peptides, nervous system regulation, and more all the things your survey responses told me you want to learn.
