My high school geometry teacher had the worst breath in the universe.
It was so bad that I would discretely hold my hand over my nose like I was scratching it when I talked to him.
I once tried to explain to my Mom that his breath smelled of coffee, cigarettes and stinky bowel gas all rolled up into one.
Was he rotting from the inside out with oral and intestinal microbiome imbalance?
While I don’t know what happened to him, I know I never wanted to have people whisper about me between classes and hold their hand over their nose when talking to me.
He had to have known, right?
Let’s face it, all of us have a hot breath day here and there but when it becomes chronic it’s downright frustrating.
Sadly, it’s common to look at the gut health as the main factor and skip over the oral health.
What’s going on in your mouth is a direct reflection of your overall health.
If you have a history of a dental infection, root canal or any major dental work and you’re not feeling 100% it’s worth it to get an assessment by a holistic dentist to rule out your oral health as a cause for your underlying health conditions.
In this week’s episode of The Health Fix Podcast, I’m joined by Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, a former traditional dentist who discovered her own mercury toxicity and transformed her entire practice to help others heal from hidden dental causes of chronic illness.
In the podcast we cover:
- Mercury toxicity & how it shows up in the body
- Cavities, root canals & the effect of hidden dental infections on your health
- The link between gum health and hormones
- How airway issues, teeth grinding, sleep apnea & fatigue are connected
- The real preventive dental care steps everyone should take but haven’t been taught
- How to find a dentist that really is a holistic dental provider (heads up there’s a lot of wanna-be’s out there)
If you’ve been chasing symptoms but still don’t feel better this episode will open your eyes to what your dentist might be missing.
