The National Sleep Foundation notes that changing your environment can be one of the most effective ways to break a poor sleep cycle and create a healthier sleep pattern.

This is why Chinese Medicine will have you looking at how your daytime environment impacts your nighttime.

While the research shows that a vacation to change your environment is a crucial step to help with insomnia, I’m wondering if slowing down on a sleep optimization trip may highlight areas during the day you could work on.

I was surprised to learn that sleep tourism is a big deal and not just a trendy major hotel chain thing.

I’m not sure how many people take full advantage of these resources, as I’m still seeing a lot of folks need a vacation to recover from their vacation.

When I lived in Tacoma, Washington, I’d make frequent trips to the coast or mountains just to be able to sleep with the door cracked to listen to the rhythmic roar of the ocean or sounds of nature.

Soundscapes like crickets, frogs, and owls emerging from the moonlit silence at night, with birds chirping at sunrise, also have the potential to induce deeper sleep phases.

I can attest to this, as my insomnia has vanished since living in Central Wisconsin.

Much like being at the ocean or in the woods, higher-altitude environments have more negative ions that help offset the positive charge overload that 5G and EMFs from your technology create.

All of the environments I’ve described work because the higher the negative ions in a location, the easier it is to lower cortisol levels, allowing your brain to reach REM sleep.

Summer being the prime time to take a vacation for many, I’m curious if you’ve thought about taking advantage of the prime sleep environments that getting away from it all provides?

Quiet time on a porch, sipping a morning beverage, listening to the birds as the sun makes its way up in the sky.

Relaxing around a campfire, listening to its crackles and pops while nature sings all around you.

Any of this on your list for this summer?

If not, what about for the fall or winter?

With many resorts and boutique inns all over the world boasting their sleep programs, it’s easy to find a trip for every budget and desire, from an immersive, sleep-focused escape to an adventure that prioritizes resetting your sleep rhythms.

What’s more is that you can work on resetting your sleep before and after your trip with a custom protocol to amplify your results.

Curious about what’s out there?

The Equinox Hotel in New York City offers a blend of city time and sleep optimization with their Sleep Experience Program – https://equinox-hotels.com/nyc/sleep/

Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California, has an ocean-inspired program featuring Dr. Michael Breus, “The Sleep Doctor” – https://postranchinn.com/packages/

Six Senses Resorts in Thailand and Ibiza, Spain, offer 3–7-day sleep programs for a fully sleep-focused retreat.

The Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, Switzerland, is the ultimate in mountain resorts with a sleep-focused program.

While these are just a taste of some of the resorts and hotels focused on sleep rejuvenation, I can see ways to create the same experiences at many resorts across the US as well.

Even certain cabin stays, especially in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, can be tailored to some serious sleep therapy.

This week, I’m talking all about hormones, aging, and sleep therapy on my podcast, so stay tuned for it to drop tomorrow.

Till then, what do you dream of when it comes to the ultimate sleep experience?

Here’s to sleeping well for longer,
