When’s the last time you truly felt good in your body?

No pain. Plenty of energy. A clear, focused mind. No gut issues.

For many, that might feel like a dream.

My Dad, who’s 89, will even tell you it’s not possible.

And maybe he’s right that some parts wear down with age, yet I can’t help but wonder: do they wear out because the early warning signals were ignored for too long?

Now, I’m not suggesting you become hyper-vigilant about every little twinge.

That in itself can become stressful.

But I am asking: how long do you wait before listening to your body?

And could the right mix of diet, lifestyle, joy, and maintenance practices actually keep you going strong far longer than you think?

Take pain, for example.

It can come from overuse, posture, muscle imbalances, trauma, injuries and so much more.

Yet I’ve seen clients with multiple disc herniations on MRI who don’t feel pain in the areas they have herniations.

I myself have an L5-S1 herniation doctors told me needed surgery.

I refused. Some days I move just fine and others I walk like Frankenstein.

My husband, hit by a truck 13 years ago, sometimes predicts rain with his knees.

Other days, no pain.

Even my Dad, who’s flipped more race cars than I can count has pain-free days in between his revolving aches.

What does that tell me?

Pain doesn’t always match the picture on a scan.

Sometimes surgery doesn’t even solve it.

Which begs the question: what is the pain trying to tell you in the first place?

For me, the difference between dragging my leg and moving well is clear:

  • I keep up with pelvic floor and mobility work
  • I do fascial release a few days a week
  • I get outside and play to de-stress

When I skip those things? My pain reminds me quickly.

Your body, like a car, needs regular maintenance and symptoms are how it communicates.

They’re not “good” or “bad”, they’re messages asking you to pay attention.

I invite you to try out this challenge…
For the next 2 weeks, journal your symptoms and notice:

  • When do they show up?
  • What happened in the 24 hours before?
  • Do you see any patterns?

Imagine how much your body is already telling you and how much relief is possible when you start listening.

What would it feel like to decode those messages and turn them into an actual plan to restore your energy, focus, and metabolism?
