To restore balance in the body you want to get the basic functions back up and running.
- Stress and mindset/thought patterns
- Sleep
- Digestion
- Circulation (includes pain & mobility issues)
Immunity
I often will address them in this order while working on sleep.
Sleep is when you repair, so this has to be on point.
Working sequentially helps the body restore it’s balance.
If you’re struggling with inflammation and you’re not sleeping – start there.
Sleep ok?
Then move to optimizing digestion.
Move down the line based on your health complaints.
3 things at a time seems to be a sweet spot for balancing the body.
Get the foundations in place for healing and then go after the intricacies…that is if they are still there after you’ve done the basics.
It’s really easy to approach functional or natural medicine in the same way conventional medicine looks at things.
Identify the issue and go after just that issue.
Taking a problem based approach generally ends up like conventional medicine.
You put a bandaid on the issue.
Solution based medicine looks at why you’re having the inflammation in the first place.
Once that’s identified health can be restored and aging will slow down.
Identifying where one can intervene to prevent issues down the road is where I love doing testing from the company TruDiagnostic.
Their testing identifies how fast you’re aging and it gives you a biological age to compare to your chronological.
I tested 7 years younger than my chronological age!
I’d like it to be more my next round of testing.
The point here – get the body in balance before doing more advanced testing that muddies the waters and you end up with 15+ supplements and not sure if any are helping.
Here’s to your health,
