At 15, I sliced my leg open on a BMX pedal and ended up with 36 stitches.

A month later I did it again and tried to hide it from my mom with a maxi pad and duct tape.

It didn’t work and I ended up with more stitches!

What I didn’t tell anyone was that the numbness and nerve pain from that injury followed me for 7 years.

I was hiding it because my mom had just been diagnosed with cancer and my pain didn’t feel like a “big deal” compared to her situation.

It wasn’t until naturopathic school that a professor demonstrated how B12 injections and myofascial release could restore feeling after nerve injury.

One round, and the constant pressure around my lower leg was gone.

Three rounds, and the shooting bone pain disappeared.

That experience turned me into what I jokingly call a “needle addict”…obsessed with injections, peptides, and circulation as tools for resolving pain and numbness.

Here’s what I’ve learned after years of my own pain and treating thousands of patients:

Pain is a signal of decreased circulation and impaired nerve function.

It’s your body telling you to pay attention.

Minerals like magnesium, selenium, zinc, and copper are critical players as are B12 and folate.

When these are depleted, oxygen transport suffers, nerves misfire, and pain becomes chronic.

If you’re feeling off, inflamed, or like your body isn’t working the way it used to this is worth exploring.

And tomorrow, tune in to my podcast with Dr. Brianne Grogan.

We get real about pelvic pain, my back injury, and how working with the right person can be truly transformative. You don’t want to miss it.

Here’s to getting that circulation dialed in,
