Things that make me cringe…”new year new you…new year new goals…new year new {insert whatever here}.”
Only 6% of those who make new years resolutions keep them according to Dr. Michelle Rozen (check her out here).
The other 94% bail on their resolution within 2 months.
Just reading the word resolution makes me think in temporary terms, like a CrossFit burpee challenge that you’ll complete and never do a burpee again.
And yes, I’m speaking from experience.
It may seem the magical flipping of a calendar over to a new year wipes the slate clean and a good time to lose weight, get fit, put your mind in check, start your health transformation journey…
…but what if there’s a little groundwork to be done first?
As stars align to usher you into a new phase in life every new year…ponder this…for most of us living in the northern hemisphere, we’re still under cold dark going inward energy – more of a time to prepare, contemplate and plan for the change.
Come Spring Equinox – March 19-21st time frame – now this is the energy that supports transformation.
So instead of tomorrow being the day to go all in why not use it as a planning and testing period, a soft launch, for the real deal in March.
Astrologically – 2025 is all about looking inward – so do a check in with yourself and see what feels best.
Use the astrological energy of the new year and create something special for you.

Get out some paper and set a timer for 15 minutes and write from the heart (no typing – old school writing is best).
What do you want for your health in 2025?
- What do you want 2025 to bring or do for you – health + life?
- Who do you need to become to achieve your desires?
- Do you need to deepen your relationship with yourself and team up with others to do so?
- What do you need to do to free yourself from your old patterns, habits and behaviors?
- Anything, person, vibe, lifestyle you do not want to take with you into 2025?
To transform your health you have to think and behave differently.
Think of this exercise as a launching pad for upgrading yourself.
Aging well doesn’t happen by accident, it’s a process and it starts with owning what you want for yourself and getting it out of your head and onto paper.
How many times have you thought about doing xy or z for your health but never achieved it?
Did you write it down and revisit your writing throughout the year?
I’m guilty of writing down goals and never looking back to review or assess my progress.
I don’t want this to happen to you.
Any new year can be “your year” – the same goes with any month or day.
So if the 1st of 2025 is coming too fast and you’re not ready to change your story but you want to.
Don’t make a BS resolution and not stick to it.
Take your health and your aging seriously, put in the journaling work and revisit what you noted often.
You’ll be surprised what happens by the end of your year.
