As a teen I watched my Mom’s “chemo brain” disappear with acupuncture.
It’s always been one of my favorite tools to shift clients shift from frazzled, anxious, and unfocused to calm, collected, and sharp, often in just a few minutes.
But unless your acupuncturist gave you needles and trained you how to needle these points daily brain stimulation would be tricky.
The good news is, you don’t have to become your own acupuncturist, I’ll explain why in a bit!
My own “brain fart” moments have led me to sleuth out what my body is trying to tell me and I’ve started to notice patterns…
- My brain fog hits after a poor night’s sleep.
- Or a string of complicated cases at work.
- Or the week before and during my period.
Many of my clients have identified their own patterns too:
- Wheat or gluten sneaks into their food (“being gluten-ed”).
- Strong perfumes, gas fumes, or chemical cleaners.
- Just one too many cocktails on a hot summer night.
What’s the common thread?
The brain becomes toxic, it isn’t able to detox and drain effectively.
This is where the lymphatic system comes in…
… and when it’s overloaded, brain fog follows.
Tight neck muscles? Sleep disruptions? Chemical sensitivities? These are all signs your lymphatic system could use some support.
Here’s the good news: you don’t need acupuncture needles to help clear the fog.
Acupressure or tapping of the acupuncture points can mimic the effect.
A few minutes a day of tapping or pressing key points helps stimulate circulation and lymph flow.
My favorite brain fog points to press or tap on:
- Du 20 (top of the head: trace up from the top of both ears until your fingers meet)
- Yintang (spot in the forehead, between the eyebrows)
- Du 26 (the philtrum, just under the nose)
Tap each point 10–20 times when you need clarity and focus. Pair with essential oils for an added boost.
Citrus scents to energize, or calming oils like copaiba, helichrysum or lavender if you’re anxious.
Imagine wiping out brain fog in minutes while helping your body detox.
