What if feeling better isn’t just about finding the right supplement, hormone, or treatment, but also learning to listen to your body in a completely different way?
In this episode of The Health Fix Podcast, Dr. Jannine Krause sits down with Dr. Mary Sanders, a chiropractor and energy medicine practitioner, to explore the connection between the body, the nervous system, emotional experiences, and personal transformation.
Mary shares how being born hearing-impaired shaped her sensitivity to her surroundings and influenced her path into chiropractic care and energy medicine. Together, she and Jannine discuss emotional releases during bodywork, how past experiences may influence the way we respond to stress, and why women over 40 may find themselves questioning their identity, purpose, and what comes next.
They also explore Mary’s use of stroboscopic light, vibroacoustic therapy, and other approaches intended to support relaxation and nervous system regulation. The conversation highlights the importance of creating space to slow down, tune into your body’s signals, and explore what you may need as you move through life’s transitions.
If you’ve been doing all the things to support your health but still feel like something is missing, this conversation invites you to get curious about your body’s needs and consider new perspectives on your well-being.

Jannine Krause (00:00.88)
Dr Mary Sanders, welcome to the Health Fix Podcast.
Mary (00:03.854)
thank you, Jeanine, for having me. Sincerely it’s my honor to show up, share space with you and with the listeners. So looking forward to a heartfelt conversation.
Jannine Krause (00:13.094)
Absolutely. So the concept of energy is something that is becoming more and more popular. And as I shared with you before we hit record, my folks in Washington are all on it. My folks in Wisconsin are still a little bit like I don’t know about this energy medicine thing. And I’ll be honest, I grew up in the Midwest. I, you know, we were taught that things in that realm were a little bit different, a little bit more new age. And so
I’ve spent a lot of my career trying to explain acupuncture and what that does and how it’s not voodoo. And so it’s really fun to talk about energy medicine now because it’s becoming more popular, but it’s also like as I’ve gone through 19 plus years in practice, I’m like, this is at the root of where we need to be with helping folks move forward in their life. And I’m guessing that you found this out at a lot earlier stage in life than I did.
So tell us a little bit about how working as a chiropractor brought this out or even going back to your childhood and I and I’m gonna ask a little question a little bit later, but just super curious. You said since the age of three you’ve noticed that this kind of gift that you have.
Mary (01:22.85)
Yeah. Jeanine, you know, I think what you’re saying ultimately that I want to invite the listeners, no matter where you are in the spectrum of understanding energy, it is you are perfect where you are at the moment. Sincerely, don’t judge yourself, don’t compare yourself to anybody else’s understanding or concept of what energy is. I invite you to listen with an open mind and an open heart and a and a bit of curiosity.
Because what you might hear today might start you on the journey of further exploration. Now, as a Kyle Parker that’s been practicing for I think 33 years, it’s time flies when you’re having fun. I can honestly tell you that I did modalities and I did treatment protocols that were always kind of on the fringe. When I say on the fringe, I’m saying that there’s a hardcore science, right?
That Dr. Janine and I both have in our professional training, that we know that the human body responds to XYZ. And there’s a soft science that has yet to be proven. Although I have to share with you listeners, the research, the research that’s coming out about bioenergetics in the human body is phenomenal right now. So there is hardcore at hardcore evidence to support what we’ve known all these years.
And so I have to share with you all, at the end of the day, when it comes to practical application of some of these modalities, the patients don’t care. What they what they care about, am I going to get better? Am I going to feel better as a direct result of this? Because if that’s the case, I don’t care what you do. You can stand on top of your head and touch me with your little toe. And if I respond favorably, I don’t care what you do.
Jannine Krause (03:12.422)
Yeah. Yeah.
Mary (03:12.759)
So that’s where I stand. I come from a place of experiential wisdom and the school of hard knocks when it comes to understanding, explaining and standing for the human energetic system.
Jannine Krause (03:26.266)
Makes sense. Makes sense. I’m curious about the School of Hard Knocks a little bit because I feel like I’ve kind of maybe been through my version of the School of Hard Knocks of trying things out and going, huh, would that do? Huh, would that do? Because you’re really right. Like most patients when I’m doing acupuncture, they’re like, I don’t care that you’re putting needles in me. As long as it works, I’ll go through whatever. And I’ve and I’ve found this to be true for a lot of different, you know, tuning forks, some of the other things I do. But, you know, one of the things that
A lot of a lot of folks in the the energy medicine space or folks of us that have come to it by way of trial and error in the school of hard knocks, we find that there’s certain things that set us up for this. Now, one of them you mentioned that kind of fits my realm is is on your website about empathy and being able to feel a lot. I feel a lot with my body, I feel a lot with my fingers. These fingers, like that’s why I think Cairo, that’s why think needles. Now you have an interesting
Mary (04:15.848)
Mm, mm.
Jannine Krause (04:25.232)
Background where having 50% of your hearing not present since since birth? Is it or yeah? Okay. Yeah. And so obviously, we’ve been taught in the medical space if one of your senses is diminished, you’re going to develop other characteristics. And so please share how this kind of shaped things a little bit for you. What did you notice as a kiddo? What did you notice growing up? And how did that translate into like you were saying with the fingers and feeling with Cairo?
Mary (04:32.909)
Yes, in first.
Mary (04:55.947)
You know, I love this question and I’m glad and I’m thankful that you’re answering it because being hearing impaired is a huge part of who I am today. And some people would say it’s a hearing challenge or an opportunity, as I would say, because it has allowed me the space to develop extrasensory perception. And yes, you’re correct. I was born hearing impaired. I was born in the late sixties and I went undiagnosed until the age of three.
So what that meant is I was a small little person here on this physical planet with this big big beautiful spirit trying to navigate how I am supposed to receive and assimilate information. And just as you said, if one of your traditional five senses is compromised, you innately, due to the course of survival being here on this physical plane, you develop or overdevelop those senses and then some in the extrasensory perception.
Okay. the gal that I studied intuition with, Dr. Francesca McCartney, identifies that there are at least 21 different forms of extrasensory perception. And that I think might even be a dated number as of today in in August of 2026, because I believe that the human complexity and how we are evolving as spirits is is is so fast and and and people are
pulling in multiple dimensions of information at any one point in time into a complex organism as to how they receive information. So right now I can share my own personal experience and I knew as a small person, right? I knew that my parents loved me. I knew that my older sisters were wanting to play with me, but I couldn’t hear what they were what they were saying. So I literally had to watch. I had to
feel I had to sense, I had to intuit. Now, obviously I did not know that that was happening intellectually at the age of three. I was just trying to figure it out. What were they trying to tell me? And it wasn’t until that my mother finally got the diagnosis that I was hearing impaired, they at the time provided me with the with a hearing aid on one side. They put a one hearing aid on the right’s right hand side, which was not enough to assess
Jannine Krause (07:04.196)
Yeah.
Mary (07:22.613)
Well, it was a big blessing, but not enough to help me fit into quote unquote normal society. Although I was mainstreamed with my education and with all my my life experiences without an interpreter, without any special education. So it that in itself created a whole nother, you know, series of events for me. But what I can tell you is that I was a small person
We I was the youngest of three girls in which by the way you may not know this in central Illinois. So I was born and raised in the Midwest as well. And I can remember going to Fi Saturday night mass and I didn’t know that the guy in the robe at the front was giving some kind of some a message that I needed to listen to. I just I was in my own little world, which is where I existed.
And so what I would do, Janine, I would put myself in between my mom would stand over to my right, my dad would stand over to my left, and I would put my small little hand in my mom’s hand, and my small little hand in my dad’s hand. And what I did was literally I zapped my mom’s energy, ran it through my body, and then zapped my dad. And then I would pull my dad’s energy, run it through my own, and zap my mom. So I was acutely
aware of energy at a very young age, like I could feel it, like there was a kinesthetic sense, right? A kinek a kinesthetic sense that allowed me to tap into the subtleties of the energies of what we’re
So then that developed more into clairsentience. And for those of you listening, declares are just the ability to receive information, like I said, you know, above and beyond the typical five senses. But clairsentience is is actually being able to perceive and receive information about your environment, the people that you’re around, possibly it’s objects that you can pick up and put in your hand and receive information about that object or the previous owners.
Mary (09:30.786)
For me, I became acutely aware, and again, this is where I say the complexities of each individual funds was unique to the individual experiencing it. And so I literally would receive information from my mom and from my sisters about the greater environment in which I was in. So I was always feeling for cues as for safety. I mean, clearly the ultimate desire at that age is to to find safety and regulation.
So I knew, I knew at a young age at three years old that my purpose, if you will, that was to have my hands on physical bodies. I didn’t know how I was going to do that, but I knew that my beefy little small little powerful hands needed to be on physical bodies. And ultimately my life gravitated in such a way and listeners, my journey is not linear.
It is completely circular, although I will pretend and act like I was in control the entire time when I was not. But I ended up in chiropractic school and ultimately I landed in my tri with my tribe. And my instructors recognized early on that I had a gift in feeling. And so they would be like, Okay, Mary, what do you feel? Before you tell me what you think is happening, what do you feel? And so I would describe
what it was that I was feeling and then that became my asset. And then what ended up happening as I went into practice, I had a a relatively kind of whole high volume practice and I learned how to modulate my energy based upon the the patient that was in that treatment bay at the time. So I would go from patient to patient, but I could sense and feel the person’s energy and I would modulate my own to be just a slight frequency higher
And then I allowed my hands to follow the information. And then patients would just be like, How did you know that? I how did you know that that’s where I hurt? I didn’t even know I hurt there. How did you know? If I had a dollar for every time somebody said that to me, it’s you mean I know you know how that works. y you just say, I don’t really I can’t explain that. I just knew. So where what started as a perceivable challenge and an obstacle, then became a huge asset for me today.
Jannine Krause (11:53.487)
It’s it’s beautiful how it developed. And I love that you were able to transfer the energy back and forth between your parents. Did they notice anything ever? Did they know what you were up to? Did they say
Mary (12:04.009)
I tried to explain things that I knew over the years to my mom. Like if it wasn’t Clairicentians, it was Clara Morience or direct knowing. And and my mom’s like, you know, she was a devout Catholic and she’s like, There’s no way that you know this information. I’m like, Yeah, but I but I know it. I feel it. And she would j you know, I would just get dismissed. So for those I guess I will say a little bit of a plug here.
For those listeners if you do have a a highly sensitive child, my invitation for you, even though it may sound woo-woo to you and you possibly don’t understand it for yourself, create the space for the your small person to explore those tendencies. Please, please.
Jannine Krause (12:51.324)
So huge, so huge. I think, you know, one of the things that I also grew up Catholic. mom was incredibly Catholic. And and so yeah, a lot of times when I had things that I wanted to say or things that I noticed, yeah, it was it was shut down pretty fast. And I think, you know, if we look back into one of the other big things that’s helped me quite a bit with energy medicine is trauma and and things that come up
Mary (13:13.037)
Mm.
Jannine Krause (13:14.968)
And and things that I notice. And another thing, and and this is maybe where I want to probably go since a lot of people are talking about trauma stuck in the body, but I think a lot of people don’t realize when you do body work on someone and we get an adjustment, we can release this trauma. Cause I’ve had people come in, we do needles, they start crying, they’re like, my God, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what this is. I have no idea. I would love to talk about that because I’ve never actually talked about an emotional release with body work.
of any kind on the podcast. So I would love to hear your take on that and how we we’ve helped people, you know, like I’m I’m switching a little gears here, but how we can translate into explaining these kind of things that people feel themselves and when they don’t necessarily give themselves a label of feeling more clairvoyant and or you know our an understanding energy medicine.
Mary (14:04.949)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So the first thing that I want to talk about, if I may, is to back to the fur go back to the first part of your question. And that was as trauma for you made you a better practitioner. And I will say that is true for me as well. And I want to give kind of a a kind of a not yeah, a kind of an intellectual reasoning as to why that is.
And what I understand the second energy center, one of the second chak the second chakra that sit just below the belly. And for those listeners that are not aware of what chakras are, they’re essentially energy centers that surround and live within your physical body. And what’s cool about it is that this came from a Vedic science which is over three thousand years old from from India.
However, what we’re finding now in today’s modern medicine is that these energy centers are governed by a nerve plexus or a highway of nerves. And so we’re seeing a physiological correspondence to something that we can’t necessarily see, just like the naughty system within the field of acupuncture. And so we like Jeannie knows where to put the needles in based upon not only what she has learned.
through the ancient sciences, but also through modern physiology, how the nerve path how the nerve pathways run. So what I’m what I’m about ready to explain is that the second energy center, the chakras themselves, let me back up, have three primary focuses. They receive information coming in from the from the environ environment. The second function of the energy center or the chakra is to assimilate that information
And last but not least, we express information out into our environment. So like I will take for example myself, right? A number one, I was hearing impaired. And number two, my father was also a functional alcoholic, if there is such a thing. So that there was always kind of like this hostile energy, this unpredictable energy that would would come and go from the home.
Mary (16:15.049)
And so I needed to navigate energetically when I was safe and when I was not safe. And so that’s typical for many people who undergo trauma, whether that be physical, emotional, or chemical trauma, their body is just neurologically trying to regulate safety. And all of that information comes through the majority of it comes through that second energy center where we are empath empathetic. We are
feeling what’s happening within our environment. So we’re doing we’re holding energies for others and we’re also trying to contain our energy for ourselves. So yes, Janine, to make a long story short, I 100% agree with you as practitioners, as beautiful and humans, you know, beautiful spirits living in their human home. If trauma has been part of your history or or adverse childhood traumas,
then know that that can get stored not only in the body but within the energetic system as a whole. Now one of the blessings is that both Janine and I are in a position where we have enough professional and life experiences that we no longer practice just as a lens of a straight chiropractor or a straight acupuncturist or a straight naturopath or a straight energy worker.
When we come together and hold space for a patient, we hold it in a very unique way. We hold it in a way that we’re encompassing intuitively all of our wisdom and we follow the guidance to our hands and our fingertips. That allows us to gr naturally gravitate to where there’s stored emotions or blocked energy or contained energy that needs to be released.
And so it doesn’t when we start working with people, it’s not our intention when we start the the the the the treatment to make a person cry. Our intention is to be of service to their highest good at all times, right? So when we start following the energy with our hands or with our fingertips, we we know, we sense, we intuit what needs to be come out or what is ready to be revealed for the patient that day. So hopefully that
Mary (18:27.639)
brings it full circle.
Jannine Krause (18:29.594)
Yeah, yeah. I think for a lot of people it’s just, you know, one of those experiences that the can that can happen. They’re like, whoa, that is weird. And so it’s just another way to connect, right? Another way that you’re you’re feeling that you’re an energetic being. And so I think I would love for you to kind of talk about how you’ve helped folks in in your private practice and in in your one-on-ones. You know, how have you helped women to really tap into seeing how energy medicine plays out in their own day? Like how how energetics play out.
in their own day.
Mary (18:59.981)
Yeah. Yeah. So in order for me to answer that question, I just need to kind of provide a a linear context as to what my background really looks like. So as I mentioned, I practiced in Colorado Springs as a relatively straight chiropractor for twenty two, twenty three years. And at that time my husband and husband and I decided and at that time I was really professionally very unhappy.
I was fulfilling the needs of everybody else, but I was not fulfilling the needs for myself. And so I lost my true north. I kinda lost my compass and I had to take a timeout. And in that time out, my husband and I moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. And while I was there, I went through this huge identity crisis. I kid you not, like I didn’t know who I was outside of being in a brick and mortar structure holding space as a chiropractor. And so I went through this like
just really confusing time. And so I ran away from Ho Chi Minh City and I went to Bali, Indonesia, where I spent a month, probably I think five or six weeks in Bali, specifically in Ubud, just trying to figure out who I was, like where do I fit in this whole dynamic of life and what’s my next phase? What’s my next chapter? So I went and did my yoga teacher training and for the first time I literally had time and space.
like just to listen, listen to my body, like identify my looping thoughts and just to kind of feel how I was interacting with people. And it was really eye opening. I spent a lot of time sleeping. I had to re yeah, I had to re I had to reintegrate and cocoon in order to identify and I fell in love with meditation at that time. So I had to kind of reidentify and reorganize a few things neurologically.
So I came home from Bali, Indonesia into Ho Chi Minh City and I continued my meditation practice and Janine things started to shift like t there was like a platonic I mean just like a a just a huge shift for me. I was like, what is happening? And so from there I was like, Okay, now you know, trying to wrap my head around it, I was like, Okay, all right, hang on, Mary. You know the body really, really well from the neck on down.
Mary (21:16.363)
And so what’s happening in this mental space when you’re meditating? And so I was like, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happening. I need to go and learn and explore that. And that’s what took me to study underneath Dr. Talbin Shahar in upstate in Lennox, Massachusetts at the Whole Being Institute. And the reason I chose him, because at that time he was the leading researcher of the neuroscience of what was happening at you know, when you meditated.
So now all of a sudden I started to understand the neuroscience. And I’m like, wow, wow, this is a beautiful organism, this brain, you mean we can model it? You know, there’s neuroplasticity, we can change our programming, our condition responses, our limiting belief systems. Holy cow. Holy cow, holy cow.
So I was like, I’m digging this positive psychology stuff and this neuroscience. Now I’m gonna go back to Ho Chi Minh. Now I’ve got like this brain stuff and I’ve got this body stuff. I got it, right? And so then at that time my husband and I started a non profit teaching teachers the tools of positive psychology. And my job was to put the content, the first two weeks of a monthly module together and teaching and role modeling mindfulness. So I got to teach meditation, I got to
pull in my yoga, I got to talk about the human body. And then I was like, this is cool. I found my purpose. I found my purpose. And and life happened at that time. My mother passed. My sister passed. We relocated to South America. And then when I finally got to South America, I was like, my God, what’s my purpose? How do I do this? What’s what’s next? And my husband’s like, you know, Mary, you’ve always, always had a fond appreciation for the human energetics. Let’s just go and get some additional training.
Now both of my parents were educators, so my belief system was that I had to have professional training in order to call myself an energy worker. And that’s what I did. I attended yet another curriculum at the inst the intu
Mary (23:24.299)
I studied medical intuition with Dr. Francesca McCartney and Salcelito and she and the group there provided gave me the space to really explore what I’ve always known and was able to learn how to fine tune some of those skills. So then I started to really tap into my psychometry, which is just energy coming through the hands and how to how to interpret it. I started to really understand and identify clairvoyance and clairsentience, like what am I seeing and feeling?
What am I sensing overall? So when I bring all of these things together now to answer your question directly, Janine, is that when I I can no longer separate these modalities. And so when I come into my practice and I put hands on people, I’m assimilating information from a multifaceted direction. So I believe that the human body, I I know how to work with the central nervous system.
And now just recently I wanted to really get into the autonomic nervous system. And the reason being is that I have a scientific awareness that the autonomic nervous system and listeners, the autonomic nervous system is nothing it’s a fancy word for the nervous system that comes from the brain, how it governs over things that run automatically within your body. So how you breathe, how your heart beats, how you digest food.
and how your body responds to stress and stimuli versus swinging back down into rest, digest, and relaxation. So that’s the autonomic nervous system, but what I’m realizing is that that autonomic nervous system, the part of the limbic brain, governs over the energy centers. It governs over the neuropeptide, the chemistry, the hormonal relief that comes from the endocrine system.
And so I was like, okay, I’ve got the central nervous system, I’ve got the human energetics, understanding that. Now what can I add in for bringing and shifting the brain wave frequency so that we can come into a healing into a healing frequency? So now I hold space doing stroboscopic light work and also vibroacoustic stuff to help bring people out of a high beta state in their brain.
Mary (25:43.734)
and bring them down possibly into a lower alpha, delta or theta state for really healing some of those conditioned responses. So when you talk about women, I believe that, you know, when we get to 40, we’re pretty good. We’re pretty good at life, you know. We know how to execute, we know how to organize, strategize, and we know how to plan, we know how to make things happen for ourselves and for our families and for our parents and for the community.
And so those condition responses are you serve us to a certain point, but if we get to unravel some of the stuff underneath it, that’s where the true transformation occurs. So I do want to hold space for people and I do physically, mentally, energetically, so that they then can create the environment for themselves to be empowered to do their own healing.
Jannine Krause (26:36.144)
That makes sense. That makes sense. This forty and beyond phase of life is definitely a phase of life where you’re like, who am I anyway? Kind of like what you experience. And I think so this the gift of perimenopause and hormone shifts really do bring us into a phase of questioning more. Now you mentioned a little bit about light work and vibroacoustics. Can you explain a little bit more? I I think some folks will understand the the vibrational energy, but the light.
That’s one that I don’t think I’ve ever talked about on the podcast. How does light work to change with our energetics?
Mary (27:12.429)
I love this topic. It’s so juicy and so yummy. So I’m gonna try to explain it in a way that actually makes sense. Now I know that there are listeners possibly listening to just an audio recording, and then maybe there are some that are watching the video. But imagine, okay, imagine that I’m holding up my fist in front of you and I turn my hand to the side and I place my thumb inside and I curl my fingers over.
And so when I look at the human brain, I know that the area right behind your your your forehead, the prefrontal cortex, that’s where we operate the majority of the day. So my job, simply put, with the vibroacoustics and the stroboscopic light, I literally lift the cortex of the brain so that I can start to access the limbic brain, which governs over your autonomic nervous system.
And so that’s the portion that sends the information down through the physical body, through the spinal cord, and branches out to the entire body. So what ends up happening is that imagine that your light, stroboscopic light, is an unpredictable frequency of light. We can program the unit that I use is called a Roxiva light. And this light has eight excuse me, sixteen different light probes.
So imagine you’re looking at a clock, and the clock is maybe ten inches in diameter. And so on that clock are going to be fifteen small little disks that are about a quarter. And so these eight of those are warm and eight of them are cool. And so the scientists have programmed a frequency that literally will override a nerve fiber or a bundle of nerves that
Sit behind the eyeball just inside of your skull. And this is where the optic nerves, there are nerves that take the information from what you see in your environment, stray back out of your eyeballs, and they cross. And this magical little space is a physical nucleus of a bundle of nerves called the suprachiasmic nucleus. And this suprachiasmic nucleus
Mary (29:39.15)
cannot register. It will do its darnest to keep up with all these flashing lights. And then at some point in time the nucleus says time out, man, I can’t keep up. And so energetically this space is called the timing clock. And I learned this when I was at the Academy of Intuition Medicine and that this timing clock is the difference of projecting your awareness into the future.
versus your awareness into the past and versus in your awareness into present time consciousness. So if you can override if your if your suprachiasmic nucleus fatigues and no longer fires, that means that your brain wave frequencies will downshift. And they downshift from a high beta to beta, high alpha into a low alpha. And this is where between alpha
And the low alpha and theta is that beautiful bale of the conscious versus the subconscious. So if we can access that subconscious division of your brain, then that’s where the magic starts to happen. So that healing component is that that’s where I strive to put people into this undefended state so that we can start to rewire, so that we can re-fire, we can create new conditions.
responses that serve the person the purpose, the person that’s receiving the modality. So flickering lights can literally change a bundle of nerves, tiny little bundle of nerves inside the cranium, inside the skull that impact the physiology of your entire body.
Jannine Krause (31:25.83)
That’s wild. That’s wild. And cool. Because so many folks really do struggle to get into subconscious, but also to understand what is subconscious versus conscious and listen to their voice and hear their voice for real.
Mary (31:28.439)
Beyond why.
Mary (31:42.072)
Yeah. I just you know, here’s the scoop. I don’t know. I think there’s I think it’s Joe Dispenza who says that we run like sixty to seventy thousand thoughts per day and that tomorrow you’re gonna have eighty percent of the same thoughts that you had today. So if you’re thinking something negative today and then it carries on over tomorrow, how do you break that subconscious pattern? And we can do it through meditation, do you mean? We know that we can. It’s just that very few people in today’s
civilization, people are too busy. And so I support meditation. I support people doing this actively. And I also acknowledge and I’m real, meaning that if I can lay down on a table for 30 minutes and I can get myself into that state, I don’t care if I’m meditating in a full lotus position, sitting on a meditation cushion with my eyes closed, or if I’m laying on a table kind of half asleep, half awake underneath stroboscopic light.
Jannine Krause (32:42.076)
Okay, so you’ve hit on something that I have always thought with acupuncture, I’ve got people on a table, 45, 50 minutes at the most, depending on how much we chit chat before, and we’ve got them into a state right with the needles to be able to to get to a calm, relaxed state. Now adding the light, and and is the light like above the eye like how do how does it work? I’ve never seen this, so please explain. How does this work?
Mary (33:10.157)
Yeah. No. so imagine you’re laying a supine on just imagine your patients. They’re lying supine on their back on their on their treatment plant on their tr treatment table. And then imagine that at the head, bolted into the wall, is an arm, like a you know, the frame that photographers use, you know, to hold their their their their not their lenses, but their flash. Imagine that you’ve got an arm coming out and about two feet
Jannine Krause (33:35.835)
Mm-hmm.
Mary (33:40.116)
Above the patient’s face, you have that 10-inch disc above their face. And so then you can program this depending upon the desired outcome that you wish for the patient. You can program it so they’re there, they’re blissed out in their needles, and then all of a sudden they’re receiving ancillary information via the light.
Jannine Krause (33:47.217)
Wow.
Jannine Krause (34:03.164)
Wow. Wow. That’s cool. Now of course I’m gonna get the question, what about seizures and lights? I know someone’s gonna say something.
Mary (34:09.163)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. it’s just not worth it. There are certain migraines that are that are sensitive to light. there are certain other certain health conditions, you know, if you have a pr previous history of stroke or traumatic brain injury, th perhaps those might not be that might not be the best modality. Now, I have I in my practice dabbled with that with some of the patients. I have, but for the for, you know, those listening, I just would tell you don’t
Don’t go down that path if you know that that’s true for you.
Jannine Krause (34:43.58)
Smart move. No, okay. So you get them with the strobe the light and and now we’ve got that happening and now we’ve got the subconscious open. Are you talking them through something? Are we, is there an intention going in? How does the process, how does the process work?
Mary (34:59.841)
Yeah, there are guided imageries, there are heroes’ journeys, you know, that you can listen to, or you can just listen to an audio recording. Now we’re about ready to add in another layer. And this is the auditory component. So we now know that the auditory and binaural beats in in certain t tones and frequencies will shift the brain as well. So you’ve got headsets on listening to this program while you’re watching the light.
Sometimes it’s synchronized, sometimes it’s not. Now that’s two out of the two out of the sense two out of the three senses that I provide. Then I add the vibratory sense. And that is when imagine in the bed I have three hundred I have two speakers, three hundred amps each, and they vibrate. And this is another source of information that gets into the interstitial fluid between the cells.
And so now you have a mind body coherence. You have the body resonating at a certain frequency. You have the brain resonating at a certain frequency. If you can get a coherence into that healing, as you well know, Janine, that’s when that’s that’s it. That’s another sweet spot.
Jannine Krause (36:18.812)
And so just for folks who are kind of trying to figure out, okay, what does coherence mean? What does, you know, what does what does all this mean? you know, I I would love for you to explain kind of like how this would benefit someone in terms of someone who’s seeking to figure out who are they in life and what is their purpose? Because I know that this is a big question that I get from a lot of folks 40 plus when they’re like
Life doesn’t feel as invigorating as it used to, and I need to figure this out. I’ll start with that one, then we’ll get into like some chronic chronic health stuff.
Mary (36:48.717)
Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. I I think that that question I think is so common. It’s so common. So listeners, I just don’t know how to emphasize. I know Janine just said that she gets this a lot. I get it a lot. And so if you’re feeling it, know that you’re not alone. That’s the first thing. This is I think a normal sequential thing that happens with aging. And I think it is part of the path. I don’t think it happens just once. I’m fifty seven, so I know it doesn’t happen just once.
So coherence. I want to go back and I want to provide a really easy visual. So listeners, I want you to imagine that you are in your junior high gymnasium gymnasium and I want you to imagine that there are a hundred different basketballs that get thrown into the onto the basketball court and all of these balls are going at different different different different different different different different different different p pulses and then imagine a hundred of these balls
Coming into synchronization where they all bounce at the same rhythm. Okay, that’s coherence. Or another analogy would be: imagine that you have a hundred grandfather clocks around you, and you hear that pendulum swing of the of the second pendulum, you know, that the the pendulum that tracks seconds within a minute, and you hear multiple, multiple, multiple second ticks.
And then if you leave for twenty four hours and come back in, all one hundred of these grandfather clocks will be synchronized and harmonious at the same pendulum swing. And this was research. It physically happens. That’s coherence or entrainment. Those two words get interchanged and confused a lot. So I believe that
And I we just talked about it. I mean, most of our conditioned responses happen by the age that we’re seven, right? We we go from the subconscious to the conscious. And by the time that we’re thirty, then we have like everything ingrained neurologically within our bodies to a certain degree. And so we run this pattern out and time takes its course. And that’s when we say, Hey, time out, folks.
Mary (39:02.707)
I’m not really resonating with my patterns and my condition responses. There’s gotta be more to life than this. And so when I hear that from a patient, I’m like, okay, well, if that’s the case, let let’s create an opportunity. Let’s get your brain into a creative frequency, a frequency that allows you to be in that semi-lucid state, you know, that state before you really go doze off to sleep and that’s that awake state.
Let’s get you in there and see if you can access some of that creativity and that information that’s available to you. And let’s hold that frequency and see what develops. And so it’s like the unknown. What you know, what sits in your creativity? What sits at that level neurologically for you? Most people don’t know. And so if you’re sitting in that state of like, I’m not I don’t know what’s next, I don’t know what my next chapter brings, but I know
I can’t continue doing what I’m what I’ve been doing because it’s not working for me, then create that neurological space. You know, again, it doesn’t happen overnight, but if you can do it time and time wi with some kind of consistency and repetition, you’ll start to access information. You’ll get you’ll start to get the downloads, the energetic information as to how to guide your next your next step forward.
Jannine Krause (40:26.032)
Think that’s incredibly huge as a part of health, but also vitality, as longevity, as you know, it’s foundational to so many things. And one of the reasons I said I would get to the chronic illness or chronic condition side of things is because I’ve worked with folks with chronic health issues for a long time. I’ve worked with a lot of women now, perimenopause, menopause. And what I’m starting to see is we try all the hormones.
We try all the supplements, they’re still not feeling good in their body. They’re still feeling stressed out. They’re still feeling like the hormones aren’t working. Now the next thing is the peptides for weight loss aren’t working. And so we get to this point where someone’s like, nothing ever works for me. And this is where I drop into the, okay, this is an energetic coherence, you know, energetic vibration, all of the energy thing where we need to tap in and ask the body like
Or the soul, however someone wants to look at. What what do you want? What do you want from me? Do you find that for a lot of your patients, this seems to be kind of the thing when supplements aren’t working and all the other things?
Mary (41:35.294)
it happened to me. I can honestly say after I went through an adrenal burnout or an adrenal exhaustion and I I literally just couldn’t function, I had to do a lot of different things in order to regain my vitality. And we won’t go into that part of my story, but I wanna say that I just want to acknowledge the effort that goes into trying to make this transformational change.
Now what’s interesting now is that I have now understand the there’s a thing there’s a thing Janine called a readiness for change. You may say that you’re ready intellectually, but energetically or emotionally primarily, you’re not ready for the accountability of that change. So that’s super hard. Listeners, I know that that was just a big truth bomb that was dropped on you and that you have to sit with that accountability piece, and I know it sucks.
But you have to acknowledge that accountability, your ability and your readiness for change to fully embrace it makes a big difference on all the various different modalities that you’re trying, whether it be chiropractic, energy medicine, acupuncture, neitropathy, nutrients, you name it, meditation, and things are not changing the way that you want them to change, then there’s another component, most possibly
on the emotional lens or through the emotional lens that you’re not willing to change subconsciously. I’m not saying consciously, subconsciously. So that’s a hard, hard place to be at when it comes to health and well-being, especially with chronic diseases. Because you have a a conditioned learned response or learned helplessness that says, I’ve had this for twenty years. I’m I’m just this I’ve had it for twenty years. This is just who I am.
you know, I get to wear this label and I’ll just deal with the side effects as I move forward. Yes, that may be true and there is that opportunity to take it to a deeper level.
Jannine Krause (43:35.833)
Mm-hmm. I can’t stress it enough how much that’s that subconscious readiness. And and you know, we’ve been kind of taught now that it’s trauma holding us back. It’s this, it’s that. And I feel like a lot of us are now searching what what are what what happened when we were, you know, three years old that that is our subconscious block. And I don’t know if that’s necessarily where we need to be going.
I kinda have and in my personal opinion, and I’m gonna put my personal opinion and we’ll get your opinion, you know, on this, because my personal opinion is that we we’re putting too much emphasis on the trauma in the body and we’re not putting enough emphasis in looking at why don’t we just ask the body itself? Like, why are we looking outside? Let’s let’s look in and ask, like what what do you want? And the question becomes, how do we do that? And how long does it take? Because that’s the second question I get from people.
Mary (44:20.892)
Mm, mhm.
Mary (44:27.585)
Mm-hmm. I think it can, I think that the you can access that frequency in many different ways. You can access that information through the body. Most of us are not conditioned to say, time out, time out. Wow, okay, body, I am I love you. I’m here for you. Please, please, please tell me what it is that I that I need to move through, right?
What is it that I can do to release or to create space for you to communicate to me what your needs are and how I can move forward? I’m here to share with all the listeners my experience with menopause was not pleasant. I’m on the other side of it, thank goodness. And let me tell you, you know, when I said that readiness for change, I’m more vital, I’m stronger.
physically and mentally, energetically than I ever have been in my entire life. And so that is putting me in the position where I my risk tolerance, my my tolerance for exploring what else is out there for possibilities is bigger and greater than it ever has been. And that, my friends, is also yet another transition that we get to embark upon in our healing journey, especially as women.
when we start to release some of the labels of our identity that we latch on to for so many years. And so the liberation behind that I think is the acceptance. I don’t believe that we have to relive our childhood child childhood traumas in order for them to be released. I do not believe we have to sit in in cognitive behavioral therapy and retell and rehab
and relive the same story and over and over and over. I believe the body is given its opportunity to communicate what it needs in each body is different. Each person listening to this audio is different. So it’s going be different for everyone. And I think that the more that we can access these various different bundles of nerves within our physical body and that we open up these pathways and again, acupuncture
Mary (46:48.917)
Neitropathy, chiropractic, energy work, these are all modalities and approaches, stroboscopic light. I mean, these are just ways to approach the human body and allow the body to heal itself. If given the opportunity, the body has the innate ability to heal itself. We forget that and sometimes we feel betrayed and sometimes we feel helpless. But
Mary (47:17.087)
human body never ceases to amaze me and I’ve been working with it for how many years now?
Jannine Krause (47:25.562)
I I agree with you. I agree with you a hundred percent. And that’s definitely why I wanted to have you come on and chat with folks because I can only say it so many times over and over again before I sound like a broken record, but I need proof, right? I need proof from other folks. And that’s really where I’ve started to drive my practice towards. And it was something I knew all along, I think, but it was it was hard for me to, you know, there’s this whole concept of evidence I’m practicing evidence-based medicine and and
What if the evidence isn’t in the realm of what people wanna post as proper evidence? And that and that’s where I tend to dance that line of being like, Well, guess what? I’m gonna practice what works. And so
Mary (48:08.525)
Janine, at the risk of sounding flippant, who cares? Who cares? you know, again, I I I think I mentioned earlier sitting on that, you know, fine line of hardcore science versus science that has yet to be proven. I don’t know if what I do will ever in my lifetime will be proven to to the level I you know, that is accepted in mainstream. I really don’t I’m not attached to that idea, but I do know.
Jannine Krause (48:12.058)
Yeah, yeah, who cares?
Mary (48:36.511)
I do know within the trillions of the cells within my body, energy medicine is the medicine of the future. It’s here.
Jannine Krause (48:44.302)
Mm-hmm. It’s here. Always been here. We just got led astray in for some greedy folks. but here we are. And and here we are. I would love for you to share with us how folks can work with you. And all of the different, I mean, I’m I’m here in all the different in per like in-person ways. And I’m like, I don’t even know where you’re practicing out of. So I’m like, tell us, tell us, where are you in person? Where can folks find you online? How how can folks interact with you?
Mary (48:47.191)
Yeah.
Jannine Krause (49:13.932)
And and really get some some good solid energy medicine going forward.
Mary (49:20.417)
Yeah, Janine, thank you for asking. listeners, there are many different ways that I show up in being of service to others. that’s my life’s mission, so I don’t think that that will ever quit. But at the current time of this recording in August of twenty twenty six, I’m located in Boulder, Colorado, and I hold space for people physically in my office and also remotely. And so energy is not bound by time nor space.
And I know that that’s a really big nugget that deserves to be broken down in the future, not for today. But that allows me to hold space for others and to view and to witness what is happening for another beautiful spirit residing within the human home. I know some of you may be like, Wow, this this lady sounds kinda a little out there for me, but there are some things that I kind of resonate with. And if that’s the case, listen you guys.
You have the right to interview your practitioners. You have the right to align with a practitioner that you feel good about. So you don’t have to look in the yellow pages anymore. You can look online, but even then you’re like, well, how do I know if I like this person? And that is the reason that I offer discovery calls. They’re free of charge. You can find them on my website at www.
drmarysanders.com. So like drmarysanders.com. And there on the website, it’s kind of its own living and breathing organism. So you’ll find my various different offerings. And as I’m talk as I’m talking to you and my practice is shifting into I’m kind of being known as like a neurological reset.
And so it I’m getting away from symptom driven into like helping the person understand how to regulate themselves. And so that’s kind of the work that I’m standing for. And I do that through energy medicine and various different modalities. So I’m happy to talk you up, meaning that I will sit there and and listen and kind of give you my feedback from that perspective.
Mary (51:37.333)
And if I’m not the person and Janine is the person, I’m gonna say, you know what, you all need to connect with Janine because she’s really good at XYZ. Or you’re calling from Janine’s community, then you need to be seeing her in person and you’re in great hands. So I have also been a host of a podcast called Energy Medicine, where we talk about all things that align the mind, body, and spirit. it’s been four and a half years. January will be five years that the show has been in existence.
So what that means to you folks is that I have a huge network of people that I know. People that are out there doing really fun and cool and supportive things. and then we’ll we’ll just see, you know, whose hand literally and energetically you end up in. So the discovery call is a really good way. My my email is on my website, so is my cell phone. so love to connect with you, Nini Web.
Jannine Krause (52:32.954)
Mary, thanks for you know, just thanks for coming on and and entertaining my questions. I know that some of them, you know, for a lot of folks might be a di a little bit out there, but I think it’s definitely something that we’re gonna keep talking about a lot more here in the future. And I I love what you’re doing and I’m I’m looking forward to chatting with you in the future.
Mary (52:50.999)
Thank you, Janine. Seriously, my honor, my heart is open to you as a practitioner and as a beautiful female going through your own individual transition. So, listeners, you’re in great hands with Janine.
Jannine Krause (53:03.306)
Thanks, you’re so kind. Thanks, Mary.
