It seems hormone replacement therapy is the answer for every woman who’s experiencing fatigue, hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, low libido, brain fog, aches and fatigue.

Some folks are telling women once you take hormones you’re on them for life.

Others are recommending incredibly huge dosages of hormones and using a ton of supplements or even medications to counter the side effects.

At what point do you look at the “functional medicine” biohacking hormone world and realize the insanity that is going on?

With so much information out there, who do you trust?

Now is the time to double down on connecting with yourself and learning to trust yourself.

This is why I created Hormone School, a program that gives you the tools to assess your symptoms, learn how to eliminate them and puts you back in control of your hormone health.

Every week I have a woman come to me either asking if they really need to be on hormones if they are still getting their period.

Other women ask me if they need hormones when they don’t feel good on them.

Many wonder if they are even helping them or not.

I want my clients to know without a doubt they are doing what’s best for their own body.

One of the best ways to know if you need hormones is to use adaptogenic and hormone supporting herbs with vitamins, minerals and amino acids first to see how you do.

Hot flashes, night sweats and even insomnia can often be caused by cortisol and subsequent blood sugar elevations.

Ever noticed having more of them after a sweet treat or alcohol?

Consider adding in di-hydro berberine, it’s an herb that comes from the Indian Barberry root that helps you to balance your blood sugar.

Chinese bitter melon is another option that’s great in this case.

Anxiety, feeling amped up on edge, waking up at 3-4am and wanting to isolate from your family and quit your job?

That’s low progesterone talking.

Maca root, evening primrose oil, and chaste berry help naturally boost progesterone.

Feeling down, not caring about things that you used to, tears come easily and your joints are aching?

That’s low estradiol.

Black cohosh, wild yam, red clover, motherwort, hops, and licorice root are great options to boost estradiol.

Tired, low libido, and losing muscle?

That could be low testosterone.

Deer antler, Tongkat Ali, fenugreek, Shilajit, ginseng and Ashwagandha can help.

If just reading the list of what you can try overwhelms you then a combination of herbs may be what you’re looking for.

My favorites?

  1. Adaptocrine by Apex Energetics
  2. PeriEssentials 5 by NNabi
  3. AdrenAll – by Orthomolecular

Chinese herbal medicine combinations are often overlooked but can be great options to help support you.

My favorites?

  1. Ba Zheng Tang – fatigue, chronic bladder irritation
  2. Suan Zao Ren – fatigue, waking at night, can’t stay asleep, irritability, anxiety
  3. Liu Wei Di Huang Wan – hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia
  4. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan – palpitations, hot flashes, night sweats, dry mouth
  5. Ren Shen Gui Pi Wan – fatigue, anxiety, palpitations
  6. Gui Pi Tang – exhaustion, insomnia, poor digestion, poor memory

There are a lot of Chinese herbal formulas that can be tweaked and adjusted based on your symptoms.

I’ll be teaching about more in my new program Hormone School and of course I’ll share more in my emails, stay tuned for details next week.

Amino acids, minerals and vitamins are also crucial for hormone balance and why I recommend a multivitamin to cover your bases.

  1. Magnesium, molybdenum, boron
  2. Vitamins B2, B3, B6, 12 and folate
  3. Selenium, zinc, iron and copper
  4. Choline, methionine, betaine, glycine, cysteine and taurine

The most important thing to remember here is to trust your intuition and if a hormone, herb or supplement isn’t working it’s time to try something else.

If something is going to work for you it takes 2 weeks to start seeing results and 90 days to be for sure.

Because of all the information out there these days it’s wise to consult with someone to get some baseline testing, have a direction to head in and then with the tools to decode your symptoms and trust your intuition you can become your own best hormone guru.

Stay tuned for Hormone School – if you’d like to learn more.

Here’s to becoming your own best hormone guru,
