Do you fight, run, freeze or lack a response when a stressor strikes?
Knowing this tells you how to work with your nervous system.
A fight or run response = strong or possibly overactive nervous system.
(Note: a balanced nervous system would have urge to run or fight but would calm quickly)
A freeze, overwhelm or no response = a depleted system.
Overactive does best with herbs like…
- l-theanine
- Ashwagandha
- Holy Basil
- Low dose lithium
- Magnesium
A depleted system does best with…
- Licorice root
- Cordyceps or Chaga Mushrooms
- American Ginseng
- Phosphatidyl Choline or Serine
- The Peptide Cerebrolysin
Both systems need electrolyte/ion support, magnesium, iodine and mineral support.
Nerve balancing exercises are also crucial for both types.
I often have clients fill out brain regionalization questionnaires to identify where there’s an imbalance.
Turns out a slight to major nerve imbalance over time can stress the nervous system.
When the imbalanced area of the brain is located as the imbalance I create a few minute morning routine to add to your morning.
Here’s an example: Standing on one leg to balance while tapping on your head with the finger tips of the opposite hand.
Work up to 5 minutes holding your balance while tapping!
