It’s frustrating to hear clients say their doc told them there’s nothing they can do about their low hormones and incontinence.
The statement often sounds like this..”it’s just part of getting older and something you have to deal with”.
Seriously?
I realize medical practice principles are 20+ years behind the research and inventions but what the heck?!
I’m not waiting to recommend interventions when I see them working and I’ve tried them on myself.
You’re not stuck with moisture wicking underwear, pads and diapers as your only options.
If you’ve been hanging out with me for a little bit you know I test out everything before I recommend it and if it’s worth sharing I’m going to tell you about it.
Hearing about radio frequency treatments for helping the bladder, vaginal tissue and pelvic floor is music to my ears.
Especially when they come into direct contact with the area versus the earlier generation devices like the Emsella chair you sit on fully clothed with High Intensity Focused ElectroMagnetic Energy (HIFEM) to stimulate and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
While some women have had improvement in their conditions with the Emsella, I haven’t found it to be as powerful as the InMode radio frequency devices.

Now, I must give a disclaimer – none of these devices work well alone – especially when it comes to incontinence.
Leakage of urine isn’t always a straight forward situation.
It’s often a combination of…
- lowered estradiol levels
- prolapse of bladder and/or vagina
- pelvic floor dysfunction
- messaging communication between bladder, pelvic floor and brain
The InMode devices are amazing but you want to use them with a wholistic approach to get the best results.
What does treating the combination of contributors look like?
- lowered estradiol levels – estradiol cream vaginally, at least during the treatment course
- prolapse of bladder and/or vagina – working with a pelvic floor PT or program online
- pelvic floor dysfunction – working with a pelvic floor PT or program online
- messaging communication between bladder, pelvic floor and brain – working on breath work, stress reduction and mindfulness
If you have the combo of all of the above you will have better results with the InMode radio frequency devices like the V-tone, Forma-V and Morpheus.

You may be thinking – what are those things?
V-tone – tear drop shaped device placed in the vagina to work on pelvic floor health.
The V-tone helped me to actually feel my pelvic floor for the first time and help me connect what I was supposed to feel with the exercises I was learning in pelvic floor physical therapy.
The Forma-V is a warmed wand that massages the vaginal tissue.
Think warm stone massage meets gentle myofascial release.
I can’t tell you how good it felt to feel the tension deep in my pelvis release (in case you were wondering it’s not a sexual feeling).
I haven’t had pain while running since.
This is huge as the right side where I felt this release is where I have my disc herniation that I was told was a surgical case.
Well if this type of therapy can keep me away from surgery – I’m all in!
The Morpheus – is a combination of radio frequency and micro needling.
I didn’t get to try it as it’s for more moderate to severe cases of incontinence.
It may sound scary but the gals at Empowered Med Spa in Tacoma assured me they use numbing agents and because there are less pain receptors in the vaginal tissue it’s not like micro needling on the face.

I’m so excited about the potential of the InMode devices that I brought Shannon Keenan, ARNP and Kara Scanlan, ARNP on the podcast to talk all about these devices. (listen in HERE).
It breaks my heart to hear women defeated and hopeless after going to their doctor’s office.
This is why I wanted to share this glimmer of hope in hopes you would share this with someone you know so that they too can know they have options when it comes to incontinence.
If you’re not in the Tacoma, WA area – know there are practitioners world wide with InMode devices and there’s even someone here in Wausau, WI with one (and I thought my area of Wisconsin was behind the times).
You may be thinking – oh gosh these devices probably cost a fortune.
Yes, there’s a cost involved but no more than what you’d spend for a year of facial and skin treatments.
I don’t know about you but I’d give anything to not have to wear a pad, diaper or waste so much energy of my life going to the bathroom and having to know where the bathrooms are to avoid an accident.
Quality of life is important and InMode’s devices have the potential to give you your life back.
Shannon and Kara both share moving stories in the podcast of how women have transformed their lives by restoring their pelvic health.
I want you to have the same experience – check out my podcast with Shannon and Kara to learn more and if you’re in Tacoma – go see them for a consultation at Empowered Med Spa.
If you’re not in Tacoma you can find practitioners near you using InMode’s website (HERE).
Life is too short to plan your life around bathrooms.
Here’s to your bladder health,
